The social service program "Help at Home - Social Care Units" provide primary social care to lonely elderly people who face difficulties in their living about their health and the self-treatment of health problems, face neglect and isolation problems from their social environment and not have sufficient financial resources for living. The aim of the programs is to provide services that will improve their quality of life, help them to use their skills and create conditions for a decent living.
The list of requirements in such cases is created by the Social Workers of the Municipality and the services are provided by a scientific team, which consists of Social Worker, Nurse, Family Assistant and Doctor.

The program offers

  Social Work with individuals, families, groups, community

  Nursing Services

  Practical everyday help such as paying bills, shopping, escorting to various services, home visits, telephone contact as needed, home cleaning, opportunities for recreation and participation in life.

SERVICES OFFERED BY THE MUNICIPAL SOCIAL WORKERS

  Psychological Support

  Family Advisory

  Information about social care and welfare issues (pensions, allowances)

  Cooperation with organizations and agencies of the local community

  Cooperation working with relatives and neighbours of the served persons

  Referral and admission of events at private or state institutions

  Cooperation with the "Metropolis of Drama" to provide daily food rations to the non self-efficient citizens who need daily food

  Determination of nursing needs of individuals

  Measuring vital signs of individuals (blood pressure, heart beats)

  Measuring of blood sugar, cholesterol, triglycerides

  Therapeutic interventions and implementing medication

  Health Education

  Prescribing and dispensing

  Scheduling tests (appointment)

  Transport to health services (hospitals, dispensaries, etc. IKA)

  Working with medical and nursing staff health services

  Vaccination with flu vaccine

  Advisory to the dietary and drug treatment

  Prevention and care of pressure sores and wounds

  Daily distribution of food portion to not self-sufficient people

SERVICES OFFERED BY FAMILY ASSISTANT

  Clean area of residence (sweeping, mopping, washing, etc.)

  Assistance in personal hygiene

  Cooking, food

  External work (paying bills, buying food)

  Fellowship, discussion, training in housework and hygiene

  Daily distribution of food portion to not self-sufficient people
