Four KAPI Centers operate within the Municipality of Drama:

KAPI is mainly a social - welfare institution. Its aim is to keep the elderly in their familiar surroundings, to prevent their institutionalization and to make them socially active in our society since they are an important part of our social life, because a healthy society is one which loves its children and respects its elderly. Within the center and with the right atmosphere new relationships and friendships are created until old age. Senior citizens within the surroundings of KAPI proudly stand and face time while they enjoy the right to a revitalized life while they fully develop their interests..

KAPI is governed by a council with the Mayor of Drama being its President

Structure of Professional and Support staff:

  Social Worker, Head of K.A.P.I. 

  Doctor (General practitioner) who offers his / her services twice a week 

  Nurse which helps the doctor and provides services

  Physiotherapist

  Home Assistant that takes care of the cleanliness and order in all areas of the Centre 

Responsibilities list:

  Prevention of biological, psychological and social problems by the elderly in order to for them to remain independent, active and equal citizens  

  Awareness and cooperation by the public and specific institutions regarding the problems and special needs of the elderly

  Research about issues relevant to the elderly.  

Members of  K.A.P.I.

Members of K.A.P.I. are citizens of the Municipality of Drama who are over 60 years of age, both male and female and regardless of economic, physical and social distinctions. 

Services offered by K.A.P.I.:

  Lounge offering drinks to members when they are there

  Entertainment programs (bus excursions, etc.) and training (lectures, study questions, etc.)

  Care and guidance for health care

  Social work for themselves and for the close environment

  Physiotherapy

  Occupational therapy

  Help for those who live alone
